Copper

Copper: The Heart and Soul of My Jewelry

Copper is the heart of my jewelry: an ancient, fascinating, and ever-changing material. It was one of the first metals worked by humans and still retains a unique charm today.

Characteristics and Meaning

  • Unique and iridescent: every copper surface evolves over time, darkening or creating green and brown reflections.
  • A living metal: it reacts with skin, air, and light, transforming along with the wearer.
  • Symbolism: always associated with vitality and inner harmony, copper is a bridge between the earth and the body's energy.

Care and Maintenance

Copper naturally changes over time: this transformation is part of its beauty.

If you wish to keep it brighter:

  • Store it in a cloth pouch or the box I shipped your jewelry in, away from humidity.
  • Avoid contact with creams, perfumes, and detergents, especially do not wear it if you are in thermal baths or in contact with sulfur.
  • Polish it with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For a deeper cleaning, you can use natural methods (lemon and salt, or baking soda with water), rinse quickly, and dry thoroughly.
  • Wear it often: contact with the skin keeps copper more vibrant.

A Curiosity

Copper is a "living" metal: it can leave a slight greenish mark on the skin. This is a natural, harmless, and temporary phenomenon that can be easily removed by washing the skin with soap and water.
