• Blue Opal

Blue opal is a naturally occurring variety of common opal, characterized by delicate hues ranging from sky blue to turquoise, sometimes with milky or translucent highlights. Its opalescent luster comes from the amorphous internal structure of hydrated silica, which traps tiny amounts of water—up to 10% of its weight.

The main blue opal mines are located in Peru, where the stone takes on warm, milky hues, and in Australia, Ethiopia, and Madagascar, where cooler, more transparent tones prevail.

Considered a gem of serenity and imagination, it is said to promote inner calm and authentic communication.
